Amethyst Court Halloween Proposal

Stranger Court 2026

Ghostbusters

A Ghostbusters takeover built around oversized props, practical effects, court-wide scenes, and one very big marshmallow man.

The theme

01 / The Theme

Who You Gonna Call?

The idea is simple: paranormal activity has hit Stranger Court, and Ghostbusters equipment is appearing throughout the neighborhood.

The concepts below show a few ways the theme could come to life—from oversized props and practical effects to smaller details around the court.

Lead: TBD
Expanded Ghost Containment Unit concept filling much of the Unit 7 driveway, facing the court with dense control racks, gauges, conduit, warning lights, and a glowing containment chamber.
In the courtA larger, electronics-heavy containment installation imagined across the Unit #7 driveway.
Initial isolated concept of a large DIY ghost containment chamber built from wood framing, panels, clear plastic, pipes, warning lights, and practical electronics.
Prop conceptContainment chamber with industrial panels, warning lights, and ghostly effects.
Project DetailsBuild ideas, costs & review notes

Possible features

  • Large viewing window or translucent containment chamber
  • Projected ghost animation inside the unit
  • Interior haze or fog, subject to testing
  • Red warning beacons and practical work lights
  • Pipes, conduit, wire loom, hoses, labels, and weathered panels
  • Dense banks of analog gauges, switches, indicator lamps, and small displays
  • Speaker for alarms, containment sounds, or ghost audio
  • Motion or presence detection
  • Raspberry Pi-controlled lighting and effects
  • Interactive command console with a manual override

High-level build idea

Construct a freestanding wood-framed facade sized for the selected portion of the Unit #7 driveway. Add lightweight exterior panels, a clear or translucent viewing surface, practical decorative piping, lighting, and secured locations for projection and haze equipment.

Treat the interactive command console as a separate upgrade so the base structure can still be completed if electronics take longer than expected.

Prop conceptOversized ghost trap with doors, lights, and a control pedal.
Project DetailsBuild ideas, costs & review notes

Possible features

  • Oversized trap body with practical weathered detailing
  • Hinged top doors and interior lighting
  • Controlled fog or haze burst
  • Foot-pedal-style activation control
  • Air-powered fabric ghost staged to look as if it is being pulled into the trap
  • Sound effects and a dedicated controller
  • Manual activation and emergency stop
  • Clearly marked interaction area

High-level build idea

Build a low, wide plywood and lumber shell with lightweight hinged doors and a protected internal compartment for lighting, fog routing, and controls.

Start with a static trap that looks complete. Add powered door movement only after testing hinge geometry, pinch points, actuator force, reset behavior, and manual override.

Project DetailsBuild ideas, costs & review notes

Possible features

  • Purchased or custom-built Slimer body
  • Secure balcony mounting or freestanding support approved for the location

  • Concealed tubing and a protected ground-level reservoir
  • Motion-triggered, timed, or supervised activation
  • Sound and lighting before activation
  • Clearly defined wet zone and dry bypass route
  • Static or mist-only fallback if full spray is not approved

High-level build idea

Start with a lightweight Slimer shell or commercial prop and adapt it for secure outdoor display. Route tubing through a concealed channel and connect it to a ground-level reservoir and pump placed in a protected enclosure.

Test with plain water at low pressure first. Proceed only after confirming safe pressure, reliable shutoff, predictable aim, cleanup, slip control, and non-staining behavior on representative surfaces and clothing samples.

08 / More Ideas

Ghostbusters Around the Court

Smaller props, lighting, signage, ectoplasm, and mini Stay Pufts could carry the story between the larger scenes.

    Balcony battle scene

A Ghostbuster mannequin and lightweight ghost could face off across the court using a practical illuminated stream.

  2. 02

    Dripping ectoplasm

Removable solid slime details could appear on railings, signs, walls, and props without using wet slime.

Small figures could pop up around the sign, balconies, railings, and other approved spots.

  4. 04

    Signs and containment gear

Warning signs, barrels, pipes, conduit, and equipment labels could connect the whole court visually.

  5. 05

    Lighting and atmosphere

Green, amber, red, and warm-white lighting—plus restrained haze where approved—could pull the scenes together.

  6. 06

    Ghost sightings and photo moments

Smaller ghosts, warning zones, and photo-ready surprises could fill the spaces between the larger scenes.

09 / Community Fundraising

Fundraising

Fundraising would help cover materials while giving the project clear levels to unlock. As friends, fans, nearby neighbors, and local businesses contribute, each milestone would show what could come next—building momentum for more people to share the idea, get involved, and help take it further.

10 / People & Skills

Recruitment

Some of the strongest ideas may need skills we do not have on the court. We would look beyond the neighborhood for people who enjoy turning ambitious concepts into safe, buildable scenes.

People we would love to meet

Recruitment lead: TBD
  1. 01

    Artists & Scenic Makers

Artists, illustrators, sculptors, foam carvers, creature makers, and scenic painters.

Concept sketches, character work, surfaces, finishes, and convincing weathering.
  2. 02

    Engineers & Technical Builders

Mechanical and electrical engineers, controls builders, programmers, and effects-minded makers.

Structure reviews, electronics, lighting, sound, projection, motion, and practical effects.
  3. 03

    Contractors & Fabricators

Carpenters, electricians, metal and fabric workers, riggers, installers, and other tradespeople.

Fabrication, power, anchoring, weatherproofing, installation, and safe teardown.
  4. 04

    Film, Theater & Stagecraft

Translate concepts into durable props, dressed scenes, show cues, and reliable operation.

Where help could fit

  1. 01

    Design & Plan

Review sketches, scale, materials, feasibility, safety, and the simplest way to make an idea work.

  2. 02

    Build & Finish

Fabricate, sculpt, paint, wire, assemble, program, and test a specific attraction or effect.

  3. 03

    Install & Operate

Help transport, set up, cue, maintain, reset, and safely strike the finished experience.

How we might find the crew

  • Personal introductionsAsk neighbors to connect us with talented friends, coworkers, and family members.
  • Skill-specific social postsShare the actual concept, task, and time commitment instead of a vague call for volunteers.
  • Creative communitiesReach local maker, art, theater, film, and live-event groups with a clear project need.
  • Trades & local businessesLook for advice, specialist help, materials, or a useful introduction from local partners.

Know someone who would enjoy this?

They do not need to live on Stranger Court. Help could be one useful introduction or design review—or something hands-on like leading a prop build or joining setup day.
